The Braintree Rifle & Pistol Club

As president of the Braintree Rifle & Pistol Club I want to welcome you to our web site. The club enjoys a membership of approximately 2800 and is located on 85 acres of land in Braintree, MA. Our facilities include a 10 position outdoor rifle range with targets at 50 and 100 yards; a police training range; a silhouette range; 20 position pistol range with targets at 7,15,25, and 50 yards; and a plinking range. All outdoor ranges are covered and baffled. The club also has 2 trap NRA regulation trap field and a new archery field.

Additionally we have 2 indoor ranges for pistols and 22 rifles. The recently opened new, state of the art, indoor shooting facility is comprised of 15 shooting positions, including a booth for handicapped persons. Fully integrated electronic target carriers allow shooter to set targets at ranges from 30 to 75 feet. Targets can also be controlled in unison for competition matches by a range officer situated in a fully enclosed range masters booth. The backstop and baffle system allow the use of all handgun caliber ammunition including magnum and jacketed loads, as well as .22 rimfire rifles. The Range uses a heating and ventilation system that exceeds OSHA and NIOSHI for lead particle removal and clean air standards, and reclaims 80 percent of the heat.

Also included in the new facility is a fully equipped kitchen, a treasures office complete with computerized phone system and card key access security system, and a new room for the clubs executive board. Construction of the range was started approximately four years ago. The entire interior of the building and shooting range area was constructed by members of the club who generously volunteered their time and talents.
